FINDING STRENGTH IN THE STORMS

28“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. 29 He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. 30 What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor!  31 Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. 32 Let them exalt him publicly before the congregation and before the leaders of the nation.

Psalm 107:28-32

How To Find Strength in The Storm

1. Storms are unavoidable.

John 16:33 (NLT)… Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows.

2. Storms are seasonal.

1 Peter 5:10 (NLT) 10 In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

1 Peter 5:10 (Msg) The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good.

3. Storms have names.

4. Allow GOD to bring calmness and direction.

Psalm 107:29-30 (NLT) 29 He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. 30 What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor!

  • (v.29) “He calmed the storm to a whisper”
  • (v.30) “He brought them safely into harbor!”
