Preschool ministry!
Our preschool ministry is a fun environment where your children can learn about God’s Word through Bible teaching, singing songs, fun crafts, games and playtime. We have an amazing group of nursery and preschool volunteers who have an equal passion for loving your little ones and getting to know them each Sunday! We work together to make everything from our nursery to our toddler room a safe, friendly and fun environment. Currently, we are going on “jungle explorations” while we dig into Bible and have a blast while learning! If you are looking for a church and a place for your kiddos to learn about Jesus, head on over! We hope that you and your children find your new home at Grace City and cannot wait to meet you!
Children's ministry!
Our goal for Grace City Kids is to create a safe and fun environment where elementary school children can learn and grow with God through a Bible based curriculum and to equip parents to disciple their children at home. How do we accomplish this? Each week we start with playtime/fellowship in the gym, then dive into a Bible lesson in the media center. After the teaching video, we spend time discussing a few questions that go with the lesson, and usually follow that with a fun activity that ties into the main Bible concept being taught to help solidify the kids' learning.
To tie the lesson into discipling your children at home, we provide a Bible memory verse for each week as well as a free family devotional- both found under the "Ministries" then the "Family Weekly Devo" tabs on our webpage. It’s great to post the Bible verse on their headboard or bathroom mirror and review it each night before bed, as well as talk together about what it means, and point out real life examples of the verse (or any verse really!) as you go through your day together. There are more instructions regarding the devotional at the top of the "Family Weekly Devo" page.
A few other resources we think are excellent for elementary school children are:
“The Jesus Storybook Bible” by Sally Lloyd-Jones: perfect for reading aloud to younger children or for older children to read on their own, it presents several important Bible stories in a fun and engaging way- and ties them all back to Jesus! Let us know if you need one!
“Big Dreams and Powerful Prayers” by Mark Batterson: This book is more of a devotional style kids’ Bible, with an illustrated Bible story followed by a devotional paragraph, a prayer and a scripture verse.
“Keeping Your Kids on God’s Side” by Natasha Crain: This book is a must read for parents! It discusses 40 big questions kids may have about faith in Jesus and the Bible, then answers them using scripture. It’s an excellent way to prepare yourself for some of the things kids may wonder about as they grow in their faith. It’s basically a book on apologetics for parents!
Also, keep your eye out for fun at church events like “Spirit Sundays” where we dress up following a theme on the first Sunday of each month and annual celebrations like "Move Up Sunday" and our Fall Festival!
