Grace City Church Elder & Deacon teams

We are extremely blessed to have a group of men who are called to serve as overseers and servants to the ministries of Grace City Church.  They work very closely with the Lead Pastor giving accountability and making sure our mission of "Growing in grace, loving like Jesus and sharing Him with the world" is fulfilled.

Bob Gunter

Elder, 2022

Bob is a retired development consultant, and married Gwen, his wonderful and beautiful wife of 43 years, while both were attending Texas A&M. They have one daughter age 38,  and one son , age 36 and are the proud grandparents of a boy, aged 9 and a girl, age 3.  Bob and Gwen love traveling and playing golf. While Bob is waiting on Gwen to retire, he spends his time building custom guitars and playing guitar in a worship band.

Dennis James

Elder, 2022

Dennis James is a Florida native and University of Florida graduate. He has extensive experience in the construction and insurance industry. Dennis is also an avid outdoors enthusiast.  Both Dennis and his wife Laura have a strong calling towards supporting local missions and donate much of their time to such causes.

Ed Gilman

Elder, 2023

Ed and his wife Ann are both native Floridians. They grew up in Pensacola and were high school sweethearts.  They have two daughters and 5 grandchildren.  Ed is an ordained minister, graduate of New Orleans Baptist Seminary and has served in three churches and for 20 years was the Associational Director for Suncoast Baptist Association in Pinellas and Pasco Counties.  In younger years Ed played multiple sports, but is now only attempting to golf.  Ed's favorite activity is studying the Word of God and teaching others.

Michael Allen

Elder, 2024

Michael is a Kentucky native and relocated to Florida in 2012. His wife Lara and three children are all active participants at Grace City Church. A chemist by training, Michael runs a marketing team for a scientific instrument company. He enjoys spending his free time with his family - primarily at local sporting events. While he believes he is way too young to be "elder," he enjoys serving alongside so many other talented leaders at Grace City Church.

Jim Jackson

Elder, 2024

Jim and his wife Becky love serving people.  They have both served together on several mission trips including disaster relief. Jim has served as a deacon in two other churches and was ordained in 1982. Jim has studied and taught the Bible for over forty years.

Scott Tucker

Deacon, 2023

Scott is a born and raised Floridian.  He's been married to the love of his life, Gail, since 1991.  Scott enjoys being outside, either working in the yard, his garden or on the boat fishing.  There's nothing more important than his faith in Christ.  His next love is spending quality time with friends and family.  Scott's favorite verse is Proverbs 27:19 which says, As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart.
